Happy News!

So I took the ACT on October 25th. I had to wait all the way til November 12th to see my score and it was killin me! I had a 29, and was one point away from numerous scholarship opportunities at numerous universities. So I waited...and waited...and waited... til eventually I managed to forget about it. On the morning of the posting of the scores online, I woke up to a text from my friend, sharing her score with me and reminding me to check mine. Well that woke me up for sure! I immediately turned on the computer and logged on at the website and waited for my new score. And BAM! 31! Right there on the screen! I was so so so happy I almost cried! haha i'm a dork. Anyway, because of this score, I got my presidential scholarship to USU and am still applying for more at other universities! ACT = $$$$$! :)

OUCH!

So yesterday, October 16th, I was up at Bear Lake with some of my fellow student body officers. We decided to take the 4 wheeler out. It's a Yamaha Rhino, so it's kinda like a golf cart, with a back seat and a roof. So we were ATV ing on the beach through all the mud and puddles and such, and I was riding in the back seat. We were going through a huge muddy puddle pretty fast so that we wouldn't get stuck. The first bump we hit knocked me up out of my seat and then right when I was in the air, we hit another bump that knocked me forward, banging my head into the roof of the ATV! There was an explosion of pain and a ton of blood dripping down my face. We stopped and one of the guys, Hyrum, gave me his undershirt to stop the bleeding while we drove back to the house. I managed to stay concious, probably only because there was cold air blowing in my face the whole way home. When we got to the house, I washed my face to find that I had a deep cut between my eyebrows. It was bleeding pretty badly, but most of the blood was coming from my nose. My nose stopped bleeding, and I layed on the couch for 20 minutes because I was so queasy and nauseous and light-headed. Then Charlie, Willy's mom, took me to the health care center, where I discovered that I needed 4 stitches! And all through this, my parents are in St. George and I'm trying to get a hold of them because the doctors needed my insurance and medical information. So now I have a beautiful cut right between my eyebrows! Hopefully it doesn't scar. But I am glad and lucky I didn't break my nose, even though it feels like it. It's very tender and bruised and swollen. It hurts to smile or move my face haha... So that's my incredibly ridiculous fall break story!

Jamison's Freak Accident

So on August 23, the saturday before school started, my brother Jamison broke his leg!!! He was playing football and took a hard hit and bent his leg all wrong. His left femur spiral fractured, and my parents took him to Davis Hospital's E.R. They sent him so Primary Children's in an ambulance for surgery. Instead of a cast, he got a 15 inch metal rod put down through his buttcheek (haha) into the bone, then screwed in in 3 different places around his knee. The fracture was right above his knee, so it's very painful. He missed the first two weeks of school and, lucky me, I helped him keep up in his homework. But he's doing much better and started school two days ago, on Monday. He's been in a wheelchair, because he gets so tired out so fast. But he's getting stronger and is now on crutches more and more. He's on crutches for 4 to 6 weeks, then recovery time is 6 months to a year! That means no football, basketball, and possibly no baseball! It's going to drive him crazy!

Best Friends

Here are some of my best friends at Homecoming, my favorite dance so far. Kiersten has been one of my best friends since 1st grade, when her ex-best friend and her got in a fight over a lousy potato chip! Tanner and Tyson are two of the best guys you'll ever meet. Their hobbies include baseball, wrestling, writing their own music, guitar, and playing with fire and making bombs. You guys and gal are awesome! Love ya!
